SERVING SANTEE
AS YOUR CITY COUNCIL
REPRESENTATIVE

“As someone who values hard work and local entrepreneurship, I believe small businesses are the backbone of Santee’s economy and community.”

As your council member, I have worked hard to help create new jobs, protected local taxes, fixed infrastructure and roads, update local parks, and have made public safety a top priority.
Your issues remain important to me. I will continue to answer your phone calls, respond to emails, and meet with you personally when requested to meet your concerns.

I’m enthusiastic to continue to serve as your council member. Because of your support, I can continue my dedication to my council duties and to the regional responsibilities. I work on the Metropolitan Transit Board to help transit needs in East County. I look forward to working with my colleagues on the council and members of the community.

COVID is finally past us, however, it put a wrench in the new movie theater complex as many movie theatres went bankrupt. This and many our local projects are a priority requested by Santee residents. This has not detoured us from working to make sure these dreams come true. We have recently established the “Art’s District”, a new concept on bringing unique selection of businesses to our city. I am dedicated to working to provide a great future for Santee, we have a lot of work ahead of us, but we can only accomplish our goals if we work together.

SERVING SANTEE
AS YOUR CITY COUNCIL
REPRESENTATIVE

Ronn Hall was elected to the Santee City Council in 2014 with the largest number of votes.   He is seeking re-election for his final term in office to complete many of the measures that he has personally been involved in working with the county to build a park by the Barn, expanding the Highway 52, and building a Community Center.  He will continue to be the voice of reason and fiscal responsibility.

Ronn is a lifelong resident of San Diego County, a notary public and licensed insurance agent with more than 38 years of experience serving the east county community. Ronn Hall Insurance and Notary Services has built a reputation for integrity, reliability, and putting people first. As a small business owner,  he understands the real challenges facing families and local businesses.

Ronn’s work has been recognized with multiple industry awards, including being named one of Santee’s Businesses of the Year by the Santee Chamber of Commerce. He proudly served the community as Past President and Board Member of the Santee Chamber of Commerce.

During his time with the Chamber, he worked alongside fellow community leaders to help launch the Santee Street Fair, which grew into one of the largest community events in San Diego County. He and his wife, Virginia Hall, elected director of the Grossmont Healthcare District, remain active members of the Santee Chamber of Commerce by supporting local businesses, civic engagement, and community initiatives. But most importantly, supporting the community and helping to make it better for all.

Common Sense Solutions For Santee

Working TOGETHER
for Real Inprovements!

Working with Mayor John Minto, fellow council members, and state, federal, and local agencies, Ronn is fighting for a real, timely solution to Highway 52. SANDAG has projected improvements in 2035 and again in 2050—but they not waiting that long!

Mayor Minto and the Santee City Council launched the Highway 52 Coalition to push these dates up—and our efforts are already making a difference. The first project is now in the Environmental Phase, on track for completion by August 2028. [Click here to see the proposed changes to fix the 52.]

As a longtime Santee business owner, former Chamber of Commerce President, Rotarian, community volunteer, and Council Member, I fully support the philosophy of “Live, Work, Shop, and Play in Santee.” After all, Santee is where East County Shops! And with our new motto, “Do More ^ Due East,” we’re showing it loud and clear.

Thanks to engaged citizens like you, Santee is now recognized as one of East County’s best-run cities. Please join Ronn in keeping the city moving forward—smarter, stronger, and faster.

EXPECTATIONS FOR YOUR ELECTED OFFICIAL

Service

As your elected Santee City Council Member, my mission is to listen to your concerns, understand your needs, and follow up with care and accountability. My focus has always been ensuring that our City is responsive, transparent, and genuinely connected to the people we serve.

When I first ran for office, I walked door to door throughout Santee and asked two simple questions: What would you like to see improved, and what do you hope for in the future of our city? I wasn’t surprised to hear that most residents felt grateful to live in such a great community.

The most common requests were better traffic flow, a new movie theater, and a Trader Joe’s. I’m happy to say Trader Joe’s is now part of our city. As for traffic concerns, especially the backup on Highway 52, the Mayor and I continue to work closely together to pursue a real, long-term solution. Our goal is simple: find a true fix for the 52 and improve mobility for everyone who calls Santee home.

Standards

As Council Members, our responsibility is to set a vision that strengthens our city, supports families, and ensures a high quality of life for both current and future generations. Santee’s parks are among the best in the region, our financial reserves remain healthy at roughly 20% of the city budget, and new businesses continue to choose Santee thanks to our low crime rates and strong local economy. Whether it’s a pothole, a neighborhood concern, or questions about public transportation, every resident deserves a timely and respectful response.

The days of government being unresponsive should be behind us. I’ve made it a priority to personally address your calls and emails—whether the issue is Castlerock/Weston, substandard housing, homelessness, infrastructure, or helping a local business find solutions. My standard is simple: when you reach out, you should hear back quickly, and you should feel heard.

Safety

Public safety is one of the core responsibilities of local government, and Santee has a long tradition of maintaining safe streets and strong emergency services. It’s our job to protect that standard and ensure it continues in the right direction. I’ve worked closely with our firefighters and sheriff’s department to support the resources, staffing, and coordination needed to keep our community safe. Today, the City monitors platforms such as Facebook, Nextdoor, and other community networks to identify potential issues quickly, allowing the sheriff’s department to respond more effectively. At the same time, our Fire Department has upgraded fire trucks, ambulances, radios, and aerial firefighting equipment to ensure long-lasting reliability and rapid emergency response. You may have noticed the new red fire trucks—chosen by our firefighters themselves. My priority is simple: make sure our first responders have the best tools and training available, so when you call for help, you receive fast, professional, and effective service every time.
